Making these connections daily is what Step Up! is all about. We find the opportunities that best fit the time and talents of individuals, families, and groups. Then we match what the volunteers have to offer with the nonprofit organizations that need the help.

Step Up! provides information about volunteer opportunities to the public in hard copy form. We work with groups to develop projects which will benefit their individual needs and the community as well. Every individual or volunteer group who calls our main office receives a complete list of volunteer opportunities for the Grand Strand area. This includes on-going individual and group opportunities, special events, National Service Day events and upcoming holiday projects.

FOR AGENCIES who would like to promote their opportunities, please contact us for an AGENCY RECRUITMENT FORM. Then complete and return the form following the instructions given. Please note that Step Up! members may send a copy of their volunteer opportunities listed on the Step Up! site instead of rewriting the information on this form. However, be sure to include the name of your agency and any changes in the information requested on the first page of this form.

Step Up!'s website provides an answer.

This one site details your steps to a broad range of areas where help is welcomed. The site lists current and urgent needs of member agencies; it gives training opportunities; it shows available mentoring options; internships; and lists in-kind gift needs posted by member agencies from our area.

Step Up! also provides in-depth information on each of the member agencies. And if you wish, you can even register to volunteer on-line. Volunteers can also use Step Up! to track records of hours served. If you wish to do this, you can have ready access to your volunteer record and even print out a copy if you need one.

Step Up! welcomes new members, and offers you the full array of advantages. First we will provide you individualized access and thorough training on becoming a member; including how to enter your information on the site. Then, you can post your volunteer opportunities, internship availabilities, and training opportunities. You will have all access to those who sign up to volunteer on your behalf. You can keep track of the hours of those who volunteer, and start to work more efficiently in the area of volunteer management. In addition, statistical information, which is so critical for agency reports, will be conveniently provided on the volunteers in each program your agency offers.

Step Up! is an ideal match for schools which offer a Service-Learning Program. Teachers approve opportunities and list them on the Step Up! website. Students can then view opportunities approved for class credit and register online. The schedule of times and hours the student spends volunteering can be reviewed and printed out by the school manager of the site.

Volunteerism is totally a win-win opportunity for business and corporate entities, clubs and civic organizations. It boosts employee/membership morale and helps build leadership skills. Additionally, it helps develop interpersonal skills and enhances the group's image. And of course, when bright, energetic people step in to solve a problem, they generally do a terrific job of it.
