 Medical Volunteers Needed During Disasters

Medical Volunteers     The tireless dedication of volunteers is a critical part of a community's emergency response and recovery -- both physically and emotionally.

No community is immune to the havoc and devastation caused by emergencies and disasters, whether natural or man-made. When disaster strikes, emergency management and voluntary agencies spring into action.

Despite a strong desire to help out, citizens who arrive at a disaster site can actually impede rescue and recovery efforts. Always make sure you use public information sources like www.stepup-grandstrand.org to identify the best way you can volunteer in an emergency situation.

If you are a licensed nurse, physician, pharmacist, dentist, veterinarian, or other emergency first responder and are interested in helping out during an emergency -- or would like to help prepare for future disasters --
sign up with STEP UP! today.  Your help and experience is both needed and appreciated!
