Employer Giving
Matching and maximizing your gift!
Many employers have matching gift programs, whereby the corporation will contribute the same amount as its employees in a given calendar year. Even if you are retired! Some employers even double or triple the gifts their employees give!
Gifts eligible for matches must be in cash or publicly traded securities. Bequests, planned gifts, and gifts of property are usually not eligible. In some instances, although you may designate your gift for a specific project or program, the matching gift may be unrestricted, to be used by Step Up! as needed. Each employer will have specific rules and restrictions concerning matching gifts.
If you are interested in learning more, please contact your human resource director, or Valerie Hensley, Executive Director, at (843) 349-6488 or e-mail stepup@coastal.edu.

Planned Giving
Your chance to change the world.
You can make a lasting contribution toward a better world and ensure a new generation of volunteers for years to come by designating Step Up! as a beneficiary in your will, trust, retirement plan, or insurance policies.
Options such as gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts may allow you to increase cash income during your lifetime, while providing Step Up! with much-needed funding in years to come.
A charitable bequest is a gift of assets to a charity through a will or Revocable Living Trust. The bequest allows you to make a substantial contribution without reducing current income; it operates like a postdated check payable only after death.
There are four ways to make a charitable bequest: specifying a percentage of the estate, a dollar amount, a specific asset, or a residue of the estate following the satisfaction of other bequests.
Sample Bequest Language I give, devise, and bequeath to Step Up! (tax identification number will be provided), a non profit organization organized under South Carolina law now maintaining its office at 2431 Highway 501, Suite C 305, Conway, SC 29526, ___________% of my estate OR $________ OR my ___________ property (i.e.: 100 shares of XYZ Corporation) OR all (or part/percentage) of the residue of my estate, including, without limitation, real and personal property.
Planned gifts and bequests may be applied to specific projects or programs or used as unrestricted gifts to ensure the long-term financial well-being of Step UP!
For any planned gift, please consult your own financial advisor. For more information concerning including Step Up! in your estate planning, contact Valerie Hensley, Executive Director, at (843) 349-6488 or e-mail stepup@coastal.edu
